Ask the bride, it's her day. When our daughter got married WE determined what we would wear since we were paying. No hat for bride's mother bcause she doesn't like hats etc. Forget convention, just have a good day.

Bride says I can wear what I want. I would like a hat, bag, shoes contrasting colour... But what colour ???
Please bear in mind that I'm male, so opinion on outfits has no credence, I would think that ivory (or cream) could look dirty if the bride is wearing white.
It is hard to advise as a lot depends on your colouring.

I would pick bright accessories, not too bright as can be garish. Maybe pastels in lemon, pale blue or even brown.

yes I have seen a mother of the bride wear ivory

actually - not for you at all
the mother of another bride 'lost' the grandmother a fortnight before her daughter's wedding - and turned up in a black over garment which she then took off to reveal standard m-i-l stuff in church

and I said to my partner - golly she has turned up in mourning .... how victorian .....

so yup the mi-i-l can turn up in what she wants .....
Yes it would be fine if accessorised with a stongish colour. Choose your favourite, from maybe, sage green, navy blue, salmon pink, lavender or violet.
