Use a calculator,do the brackets first so:
0.7 divided by 0.013
Multiply the answer by 30
Take that answer away from 100
Gives value of n
0.7/.013=53.85
53.85x30=1615.38
100-1615.38= -1515.38

thanks for the help,

could anyone help with the one below

S= [3.6 x 106 { 0.7 – 0 (1 – 0.9 74/100)}]/228 50
Question Author
the 6 on the 106 was meant to be above the 10
Without looking up orders of operations and the meanings of the various brackets, that one is beyond me. But I'm sure someone with more knowledge of math will be along soon.
You do all the bracket workings first, working from inside to out.
If your example really has 0 (1 – 0.9 74/100) then that can all be ignored as anything multiplied by zero is zero.
This would make your equation:
S= [3.6 x 106 { 0.7 } ]/228 50
So do 106 x 0.7 then multiply the answer by 3.6. This gives you all the bracket anwer and finally divide it by 228 50 (is that meant to be 22,850??)
I'm not sure you have typed all the figures correctly

Prudie,

The equation is;

S = [3.6 x 106 {Q – Qs (1 – m n/100)}]/W I

Q = 0.7
Qs = 0
m = 1
n = 74
W = 228
I = 50
