Shopping In Amazon
5 Answers
I was interested in purchasing a mobile phone advertised on Amazon's website. I have used Amazon many times in the past for various items without difficulty and the items were sent from sellers based in UK, or WITHIN the EU. My query about the mobile phone is that the seller is based in Hong Kong and if i ordered it would i have to pay import duty and extra customs tax as it would be coming from a country OUTSIDE the EU. The seller just quotes the price and does not mention that the buyer may have to pay import tax.
Have any Answer Bank readers paid extra tax/import duty on items purchased from Amazon?

I remember years ago we were brainwashed into thinking everything made in Japan was crap and now there is not one household that has not got something made in Japan. They took over the car industry and where have all our motor bikes gone?
China make great stuff, its the seller that i have questions about. Amazon do not strand over what their sellers sell so thats what my questions are about.
Also, trying to get in touch with anyone in Amazon is so time consuming that its just a waste of time.
