Tried to print a colour picture of my garden on my Kodak printer just now (brand new colour, and black and white cartridges), and it came out all yellow. You could see the 'ghost' outline of my shed etc but only because I knew it was there. Used proper photo print paper, and tried again with ordinary typing paper, four times in all. Same result. Any thoughts?

What does the handbook say?
Are the cartridges Kodak brand, or have you purchased recycled ones?
Check the manual or google search for how to print a test page. Sounds like a blocked blue nozzle.
Printers use minimum of 4 inks - cyan, magenta, yellow and black.

Try a page with a blue, red, yellow and black box on ut - that will tell you what cartridges are playing up.
Try doing a print head clean.
As Bookbinder says, you need to clean the print heads.

You can usually get there as follows (from a Windows PC):
Click 'Start'
Click 'Devices and Printers'
Right-click on the icon for your printer.
Click on 'Printer properties'
Click on the 'Maintenance' tab and then look for a 'Clean' option. (You might need to run it several times).
You may want to remove the cartridges and make sure the contacts are clean.(the little gold coloured dots on the lea edge) Do not touch the contacts with your bare hands when changing or fitting ink cartridges.

Brand new Kodak cartridges.
Bookbinder, you're quite correct I should read the instructions but they just make me freeze up.
Was super careful not to touch anything when I fitted them.
The picture of my garden had all colours in it.
Will have a go at what you have suggested, Buenchico.
Sigh. Why can't things just work properly. They were bloody expensive and I now have four sheets of yellow ink wasted.
Sounds like the blue is not working.
I don't know if you have binned the old colour cartridge Jenny, but if you still have it and it works(I know you may have changed them because of warnings that ink is low), and you have done the test page print, it is not beyond the realms of possibility that the new colour cartridge is faulty. I once had a similar problem, but it was a reclaimed cartridge.

Togo. It came in a sealed Kodak box from PC World.
It's funny you should say that about the old cartridges. I took them in a clear plastic bag to PC World to make sure I got the right ones the other day, and I have just noticed there there is a flood of red ink inside the bag. Obviously not empty despite saying so.
What a pain.
