Here I am, back after my Lenten break. I now realise that Lent is a very long time and all I did was give up crosswords. SWMBO is pleased with me.
A couple of answers still don't click though I think I have the answers. Help in understanding the logic would be gratefully received.
Powerful men secure Australian territory. The answer pretty well certainly is Queensland but where do the powerful men fit in?
The other one is
failed Tory finally runs again being hopeful. The answer seems to be " sanguinary" but I am sire that my teacher used to drum into us the difference between sanguine ( relaxed) and sanguinary ( bloodthirsty sort of thing) . Is this false memory on my part?
