Does anyone care? Why is this news? Its all I was hearing about on news this morning and its on the front of newspapers. My Mates mum and dad are splitting up does anyone care about that? There are more important issues in the world. So who out of you ABers care and are actually interested?

I'm not remotely interested in anything that any (so-called) celebrity does or says. I can't understand why people are so obsessed with them or why some even get to be called celebrities when they aren't.

I do think that as one of the major influences on Western popular culture it is not completely unreasonable that Macca might warrant a mention in the papers. He's not some Reality TV halfwit, famous for being famous, plus he and his wife did exploit their celebrity to bring attention to issues they felt strongly about, so they were a public domain couple.

I would hope that having made the announcement, the press leaves the McCartneys alone to deal with their problems. There's nothing more to be said about it really, is there?

With that all said, I think it's rather different when stars do not put their lives out for srutiny - for example, Ewan McGregor does not allow his wife or children to be photographed and does not take them to red carpet events; it is therefore entirely reasonable that the press respects their privacy. If you're a certain 'singer' and footballing husband, or a certain heir to a hotel fortune (for example), who ***** their private lifes to the media in return for money and celebrity, you have ********** no right to complain when the media then intrudes on your life. More fool them for doing it in the first place.

It is sad though when you think how long he and Linda were together, to think that he has apparently married a woman who is so dominant he is unable to cope (allegedly), I was never a fan of Linda's but God she must have made him happy.

I find it ironic that the couple have blamed their split on 'public & media intrusion'.

For goodness sakes, they court this with their charity work ~ how well would the charities do without public & media attention? when push comes to shove they would rather blame their marriage breakdown on 'intrusion' than admit to themselves that they just don't get on anymore.

The pair of them have enough money to beggar off & live the lives of hermits if they so wish..it just so happens that they didn't.

To answer the question, no I don't care. There are break ups around the world every day..and when my first marriage broke up I certainly didn't have the prospect of receiving a few ���� to make my life just that little bit easier!

No I am not at all interested but I have 'This Morning' on in the background and they have just run a 10 minute piece on this story !!!!!!!!!! who really gives a stuff about Paul and Heather getting divorced. It made all the news programmes last night as well.

I hope Heather manages to struggle through the next XYZ years on her mega millions in a settlement that she will get. Meanwhile those poor men at Vauxhall will have to think how to make the mortgage payments after being made redundant. I know who I feel more sorry for.

Yep, I won't be having any sleepless nights worrying about them, although any marriage breakdown is sad when a young child is involved! Mind you don't think I would like to marry someone who had had a happy marriage to someone else for many, many years....quite a hard act to follow I would think!!

I find it ironic that eveyone seems interested in all their tireless work for charity, media intrusion (which they don't really suffer from compared to many more celebrities)... just how many millions is Paul worth exactly..... surely he could spare a few million without even noticing... sorry I know I've gone off on a bit of a tangent but I think it's an interesting twist on how the media now seem obsessed with how many millions Heather will get....

well, Sir Paul is a hero of mine and i am saddened that this has happened purely cause he is a genuinely nice bloke. I think Linda was too much of a hard act to follow and he rushed into it. just a shame that another kid is involved but im sure macca will always do right by her. I agree about press intrusuion though. I do hope they are left in peace now to sort things out. The media works for and against you in the world of celeb. It must be very difficult haveing to deal with flashing cameras as soon as you open your curtains. I do agree about the media going over the top with their reporting though. Theres not a lot to say really, they've split and thats it! I wish them both all the best!

It did make me laugh though on the news where they were showing them on some campaign against seal clubbing and said here the strain shows. I thought well theyre not gonna be grinning from ear to ear if they are talking about clubbing seals.

I agree and disagree with you. 1st. This worship and interest in celebrities is stupid. 2nd. That there are more important things would stop us talking about anything except ,perhaps, Global warming or World starvation.
