Far less than zero, sp. I've read a bit about him since his unfortunate death was announced and I still have next to no idea how, apart from marrying Liza Minnelli (of whom I have heard) he shot to “fame”.
I've read the BBC summary of his life:
"American Gest was best known in the UK for his appearances on I'm A Celebrity... Get Me Out Of Here! and Celebrity Big Brother."
Since I'd rather gouge both my eyes out with a blunt fork than watch either of those two "shows", if that’s what he was best known for in the UK it is scarcely a wonder that I (and probably many others) have never heard of him. Strangely, of the 15 other “celebs” you mentioned in your earlier post I do recognise almost half. The ones that have me stumped are Alan Rickman, Glenn Frey, Maurice White, George Kennedy, George Martin, Keith Emerson, Garry Shandling and Patty Duke. Maybe it’s because those I do recognise have claims to fame other than being on “Celebrity Big Brother”. :-)
