Boaty Mcboatface

I am intrigued by this affair. Where did the name !Boaty McBoatface" come from ? I thought it might be from a children's book or TV program, but I can't find any reference on the 'net.

Someone just made it up for a laugh.

Meanwhile I have seen a photo of an Aer Lingus plane with Planey McPlaneface on it. Unsure if it was legit or photoshopped though.
