marvellon
4 Answers
i have just started using marvellon (2 weeks) and i am wondering what other ladies have experienced while on it. i was on jadelle but came off after i developed really bad acne and irregular periods. i was given diane 35 which i used for 3 months to help clear my acne( the doc said it is not a good long term contraceptive). i was given marvellon and have already started developing the pimples around my jaw line. my mood is better than when on diane but i am still quite on the moody side. should i continue. i am also concerned about my weight (i had already put on weight while on diane)

The first three months were quite bad. I had bad nausea and really bad acne. I had huge boil-like spots all round my jawline and I usually have pretty clear skin. Then those side-effects died down, but I still had some acne. But now all those side-effects are gone and I am glad I switched pills. My periods are a little worse than when I was on my previous pill and I still have trouble with water retention, but so far I am quite happy with it.
I've been on the pill for just over 10 years now. Started on Microgynon but it made me break out in really bad acne. I then went on Dianette (which cleared it right up) but got taken off of that due to increased risk of blood clot (loved that pill, no problems whatsoever).
I'd say I've been on Marvellon now for maybe 7 years and until recently I never really thought twice about its effects (and really don't think it's been this bad until the last year...not sure if it can all of a sudden change though). I'm starting to wonder now if some of my less attractive traits may be due to this pill:
Feelings of insecurity & needing constant reassurance
Very very very sensitive and causing arguments out of very little due to being emotional
Often feeling very low/minor states of depression
I started wondering last night if my pill was to blame after I started ANOTHER argument with my fiance over something so silly/small and had a google to find other people felt Marvellon affected their moods.
What I'm curious about is if other people have found themselves to be overly emotional/sensitive or if it's just moodiness they've experienced?
I'm going to have to come off this pill anyway as my migraines are becoming unbearable and my BP has started to rise! eek!
Would love to find out if I will still be like this afterwards or if this could be down to my pill?
Responses would be so greatly appreciated as I'd love to warn my fiance that after the honeymoon when I come off this pill (july), I'll be a brighter, less argumentative woman!
