Driver Improvement Course
What's the minimum period of time that has to elapse between the dates of two instances of speeding , before you can be offered a driver improvement course again for the second speeding offence ?.
Is the period measured from the date of offence or date of course ?
If you can't remember , how can you find out what the dates of the first offence and course was ?

It's called a Speed Awareness Course and it's three years from offence to offence. They are usually offered for speeds up to (Limit +10% +9mph).
A check of your driving record here may show the offence dates for courses taken but I'm not sure:

If not, if you have committed a speeding offence you will soon find out if you are eligible or not. You won't be offered one if you are not.

It is definitely the date of offences that count, Corby. This is to avoid the effects of any delays in dealing with the offence (caused either by the authorities or the driver).
That said, there is no right to a course nor any obligation to offer one. There is no right of appeal if one is not offered. The decision to offer one or not is entirely at the discretion of the prosecuting authority.

NJ from the South Yorkshire Safety Camera Partnership,
"If I’m recorded driving over the speed limit again will I be able to go on another course?
Drivers are only able to attend a speed awareness course once every three years. If you are recorded speeding again you will only be eligible to attend a further course if more than three years has elapsed since the date of your previous course."
No mention of the date of the offence.

This site can be useful if you think you may have accidentally strayed over the limit, but don't want to wait for any possible official paperwork to come from the courts.
