Daily Telegraph Prize Crossword 39 Saturday January 30Th 2016

This query is about the £500 Brain Games puzzle from last Saturday.

I completed it and looked at the anagram instruction from the shaded letters within the crossword. It states that the shaded letters should spell the name of the singer in picture E who was born on 25th December. The letters rearranged give the answer Anton Du Beke, who is indeed in the picture, but alas was born in July and is not a singer.

Maybe this has already been queried but I can see no reference to it. Can anyone help confirm that Anton Du Beke is the answer and they have messed up yet again on this crossword.Many thanks.

Has been queried several times on here and consensus is that it is a setters mistake(probably published wrong photo)

I saw Anton du Beke given as the answer and it was queried at the time.

Thanks, blueberry2, for realising the anagram produced Anton du Beke. I was confident my answers were correct and the singer in the picture, I think, is Denise van Outen, so this was very confusing. She wasn't born on Dec 25th either !

Don't know how the heck I came across this, but answer is

V-enal (V= leader of Victor + way = Lane, heading west/reversed = ENAL)
