Does anyone know if when you put on an am dram performance of a play you have to buy new copies of the script, can borrow them from another group or you have to buy new ones each time you?
I know you're not supposed to use photocopies but wondered about old copies of them.
All the plays i was in we just used scripts that we had in stock.I did not think you paid royalties on amateur productions that were not for profit or for charity. Mind you it was over 40 years ago!
The licence is separate from buying scripts. Unless stipulated you can't use photocopies but I am wondering if you borrowed the book scripts from another group would that be allowed?
Public libraries have play sets, originally intended for play-readings. I bet the Librarians concerned can quote you the rules for performances. If not, try the Copyright Licensing Agency.
