What happens to Joe at the end of the film? Saw him scaling the Big Wheel to save the kid then missed the rest!

Wheel fell down and he died. Could be wrong but pretty sure he did.

wheel fell yes, kid was fine. joe got knocked out but was ok. everyone chipped in some dough so they could buy a small mountain somewhere, just for joe. everyone happy. joe runs off into the trees.
