Advice please.
The couple next door has not long moved in, they have 2 small children & a yapping bloody dog, today Friday is the refuse collection & this Smug goes ballistics, as I type of now all I can hear is this dog yapping, I do not like falling out with people but this is getting beyond a joke, I know the owners of this house as the house is rented, what would you do? I have had a word with his wife about the bloody dog but still nothing has been done, your advise would be welcomed before I shoot the Basds thing.

The dog has again broken our wood panel fence for the2nd time with jumping up on it, her B.F. / O.H. was working in London I had a word with the person & stated we had, had enough of this + the barking, I tried to be as polite as I could, later on her brother came around & said that his sister rang him in tears over what I had said ( Nothing offensive honestly) I had to go around that evening to apologize but said this problem had to be sorted, me been a soft @rse could not get it out of my head that I had her in tears the following day bought her a bunch of flowers & apologise again, It seems not the dog has been given to her brother that lives local & I'm feeling a right b@sdard, I just want to know your truthful views, was I right? I can take criticism so I will not take offence, but would you feel the sdame way?

Why should you suffer in silence while the b;*dy dog makes all the noise? I would feel the same, as well as it breaking the fence and no doubt using the garden as a toilet it sounds as though she couldn't control it. You apologised for upsetting her, that should be enough. Don't feel bad about it.
I would make friends with the dog and make a fuss of it. If they had trouble with it at the last place they lived as well as where they are now, then they are not treating it properly. She probably has enough with the children and neglects the dog. Does it get walked at all? Do the kiddies play with it. It's not happy if it is barking and jumping up at the fence. None of this is the dog's fault, it just hasn't been trained. A bad situation for all of you I think.
Good morning all, the children do play with the dog, I am present with the dog when he is in the rear garden, if the dog is left to roam the front garden & people pass by, that's when the problem starts Re/ the fence, we are not O ray bloody Henrie's & neither are we anti dog or children, but as soon as the person goes out that's when its starts, I could contact the owner ( Not the agent) but we are not like that I think it should be sorted out between us, but I cannot understand, she must know the dog & his barking habits & also it seems the problems she has had in their previous house, to me that should tell her everything regards neighbours, up to this moment of typing this, it's been quiet so it appears things are working.
Why should you feel bad? You've apologised for upsetting her - what more can you do? If the yappy dog has gone to a good home where your neighbour will still be able to see it, then surely that's a good thing. (Although maybe not for the brother's neighbours of course, but that's not your problem.) If the dog was breaking your fence, then you had to do something about it. Don't beat yourself up - sounds to me like you've handled the situation very well.
A similar story...
My brother in law had exactly the same problem. He worked 12 hr days at the time, and when he got home, all he wanted was a bit of peace and quiet.
His neighbours went out to the pub every night of the week, and they left their dog at home. The dog barked all night until they returned from the pub.
One night his patience snapped. He got out of the bath and put a towel around himself. He went out to his van and got a club hammer and a rope.
He then proceeded to smash his neighbours door in .. he then caught the dog and put the rope through it's collar ... he then marched the dog up the road to the pub (still in his towel) where he took the dog right up to it's owner in the bar and told him," if he did'nt shut the *@%k&<" dog up he will take the rope off the dog and put it round his neck".
The following day he fitted a new door for the neighbours ... got he estate agents round and put his house up for sale.
Funnily enough the dog never barked after that... it went to the pub every night..!
