I read it as a claim that DC caved in on the threat by Germany to use such a veto on an emergency stop to immigration. But we already know we don't have control of our own nationally private decisions any more. It's a main reason for wanting out.
out out out out out !
Well it says it all doesnt it. 'Germany had.....'

The Germans have achieved through stealth what they failed to get through two wars. Europe, including the UK this time, has capitulated thanks to collaborators such as Bliar and Camoron.

So many world leaders, big businesses and the super rich are saying we should stay.

Makes me think they have a vested interest in some way. Let's tell the Americans they would be better off carving up the US into it's component states and see how they like it?

Is The UK such a big hitter in the work today? Gone are the 'Glory gays of the Empire'. We are just an island that wants to govern ourselves without interference and as long as we are part of an international peacekeeping force we can't be left out to dry in the case of some sort of conflict.

All the carp about everything simply comes down to self determination or absorbstion into the EU superstate with Germany at it's head. Well in fact any country at it's head except the UK.
BoJo summed it up perfectly yesterday, when he mocked DC for his poor attempt at hoodwinking the electorate into believing he had got the deal he wanted from the EU, when in reality he returned with a bucket of rocking horse***.
There is not one reason for staying in. Not one.
people just believe politicians who tell them what they already think.

IDS says something? "I instantly believe every word of it!"

Cameron says something? "He's a liar and a fraud!"

Cameron's won elections, which proves he's a fraud. IDS couldn't even convince his own party to keep him on, which proves he's a hero. Go figure.
Breaking news today (and for the next month or so): Brexit campaigner offers up a reason to support Brexit; government, campaigning to remain in the EU, offers up a rebuttal. And vice versa.
Iain Duncan Smith has intensified the Conservative war over Europe by claiming that David Cameron offered Germany a “de facto veto” on his EU renegotiations, forcing him to drop a plan for an emergency immigration brake hours before he was going to unveil it.
Duncan Smith said Berlin exercised the “ultimate power” over what changes the prime minister sought from Brussels and was allowed to block the key demand, which would have given Britain more control of its borders.
Germany’s resistance to the policy was reported at the time of the renegotiation, but the former work and pensions secretary detailed what he said took place, claiming the emergency brake was included in a draft of a speech by Cameron hours before it was due to be delivered.
“I saw the draft,” he told the Sun. “I know that right up until the midnight hour, there was a strong line in there about restricting the flow of migrants from the European Union – an emergency brake on overall migration.

I agree with janbee.
With the increase of the far-right in Europe, doesn't it make sense to get out?

Let us therefore brace ourselves to our duties, go forth on 23rd June and vote 'OUT' and men will still say, "THIS WAS THEIR FINEST HOUR".
Mr aog
//"THIS WAS THEIR FINEST HOUR"//.

"Only if this Island lives for another thousand years"
don't forget.
We are no longer an Island :-(
I'm voting leave as I cannot see the EU existing in the next twenty years
By leaving now we get a head start on our rivals

That and the rise of the right in Northern Europe
