New To Gmail - Help - Where Is My Adress Book!

I have managed to sort everything and it is working but.........

I cannot find out how to add my contacts. It says click on GMail icon to left of screen but that just gives the option 'contacts' That just takes me to another screen which says I have no contacts and tells me to add them by clicking on a red G+ icon to the middle right of the screen.

I did that and the screen went grey and nothing happened!!

I have spent ages on this and need (simple) help

When the screen goes grey, in the middle, near the top, there should be a white panel with a blue underline. Above the line, in pale grey, it should say "Enter a name". If you have a physical keyboard, just start typing. If you have a virtual keyboard, tap in the white area to make your keyboard appear, then start typing.

Thanks for that - unfortunately there is nothing there to type in as you mentioned only a blue space marked contacts and clicking on that says 'no contacts'

Everything else in GMail works perfectly. Looks like I will have to use my printed list and enter manually when needed.

Hello again The Chair

Solved the problem. GMail support eventually came back from the U S and told me that it was a problem with IEx and not Gmail (the problems I have had with I EX since going over to Win 8.1!

They told me to go into GMail thru Firefox and low and behold the screen and the box to enter the names appeared!!
