Childrens TV Presenter

I saw a childrens tv presenter yesterday in a cafe. I can't remember his name but basically came from the late 70s era. Sort of Brian Cant time. I can remember he had greyish hair and I think may have presented from behind a desk. (it wasn't screen test). The programme might have been called something like Picture Box - but I can't remember. Can someone please help! Its doing my head in - all I need is a picture of him!

Alan someone? ~ he's been in 'Heartbeat' (played the vicar) and one or two of the ING adverts. Dang it! I remember 'Picture Box'. Fella had a great voice.

Someone with a nickname like mine really shouldn't be replying to someone with a nickname like yours (!) but here goes -

Yes Alan Rothwell presented 'Picture Box' and 'Hickory House' for kids. He also played Ken Barlow's brother, David in Corrie for 8 years in the 1960s. I also remember him from his days in 'Brookside' but I'm far too young to be watching 'Heartbeat' !!
