Surely this is a central part of the food business in the UK and a heck of an archive and legacy to both pro and amateur cooks....

well that's redundant, apparently, owing to the howls of outcry at this, they are now going to transfer them into their new BBC Good Food pages - probably with a commercial twist behind it though?

I can see why a national broadcaster shouldn't really become the national recipe repository; but having done so, the idea of binning them all was daft.

an anagram of the editor who has to sift the 11500 recipes is 'dietor' - is this a job for our Ed but then he's on a diet to begin with.
