Legal Name Change
2 Answers
My husband and I have seperated but not divorced. I had my family surname as my middle name and took his as my married name. I would like to drop his surname so my middle/family name becomes my surname on my bank account,work/wages,driving licence, household bills etc. Can I just do this when I change my address or do I have to do something legally?

But some documents such as a passport may still need to be in your married name as this is your legal name on the register. You can do a deed poll yourself using https:/ /www.go v.uk/ch ange-na me-deed -poll/o verview and then your family name becomes your surname legally.
