Subtittles On My Dvd Player

Hi peeps just bought a second hand dvd player a Panasonic DMP-BDT130 as it plays films from a usb stick, now it plays the films ok but I cant get it to recognize the subtitle file for any of the films, the subtitle format is srt, is there another format for the subtitles that I should use, thanks in advance for any replies

According to the information on page 43 of the user manual, subtitle files should be recognised as follows:

If the video format is .mkv, then subtitles can be in .srt, .ssa or .ass files.

If the video format is .avi (i.e Xvid format), then subtitles can be in .srt, .sub or .txt files.

In both cases the subtitles file must be in the same folder as the video file and (apart from the file extension) carry an identical name.

thankyou Buenchico, you have just solved the problem the .srt did not have the same name changed it now everything is fine
