Hi, just wondering if anyone has the same recurring dream as me. I'm lost and trying to find my way home but nowhere looks remotely familiar and as I venture down different roads, the landscape becomes increasingly stranger. If I encounter people, they are often menacing and when I find a direction sign, it's always unreadable. I try to ring home on my mobile but most of the numbers are missing, making any call impossible. Sounds like insecurity to me.

Interesting that you should raise this topic. Frequently I dream that I am at university and find myself worrying that the next day I have examinations for which I have done no preparation, or have 24 hours in which to research and write a dissertation. It's a very long time since I was at university, and when I wake up all is well; I have my degrees. I can't understand, though, why this should prey on my mind.
I have a similar recurring dream, where I'm trying to find my way home (quite often my childhood home). With me, it tends to be when I'm feeling out of sorts about something, so not quite an insecurity thing, more like I'm trying to find my way after taking a wrong turning
Jackdaw, I have a similar recurring dream about exams and having not done any preparation at university. In the dreams, I also have made no friends so have to go around frantically trying to meet people so I don't leave knowing nobody.
Omigawd, the exam dream, Jackdaw! Yes, I know that one well. Isn't it great when you wake up and realise that all that is in the past!
I have the exam one too! Quite a regular one, like you Jackdaw, I've done all my studying but the location can range from school to university to my postgrad! I'm also always very relieved when I wake up as it's quite distressing.

I studied languages for a while and that is an even more distressing one as it's even more insurmountable thinking I realise I just can't even speak enough of the language to have any chance at even revising.

I used to have a very regular one when I was trying to get away from something horrible, usually trying to get me, and I just couldn't get away until right at the end when I thought I had escaped then whatever it is rears up behind me, then I usually wake up, not nice dreams.

There are quite a few dream diaries on the internet you can search for various things on. Likely others will have had similar dreams.
sounds like the EU!
