due to the unrest & dangerous scenes on the roads in & out of Calais, as
Its bad enough for the the truck drivers at the moment?

I don't think I would want my children travelling that route, unless changed to another Port, or to fly!

Which particular story on that page are you referring to?

Sorry Mamya,

Its the top video on the left side as you scroll down.

I know this was a while ago, but a friend has just got back from Paris, and she said it was very scary driving into Calais!
Yes it was a while ago and discussed on here back then.

No one wants their children exposed to such scenes, so each parent has to make their choices individually - one could be philosophical and say that the world is full of distasteful sights and sounds we can't protect them from everything.

However on the whole, I would not want my children to go past that.
Well, I give up, does AB have a high % of French Members, cos unless it does the link is fairly meaningless?
I'm not sure if this is the same story, but this one was discussed here when it was reported some months ago.

Motley, if you do want to read the FB page, right click and 'translate to English'.
Thanks ML, I saw it back in January.
Hopefully if it isn't that then trt could find a clearer and more informative reference.
NO ! Otherwise they have won.
There are plenty of other ports; Dieppe and Le Havre for the Paris region, Cherbourg for Normandy &c.
Who has won?

## NO ! Otherwise they have won. ##

So if your kids got injured Mikey, that's OK is it, because you think we should stand up too, or ignore them?
As I have said, Calais is easily avoidable. When I used to take parties to France, Dover - Calais never came into it. We used to go to Normandy so Cherbourg was much more convenient, as well as much more leisurely. Should I have been heading for Paris, then it would have been Dieppe or Le Havre.
Mikey, //NO ! Otherwise they have won. //

Do you mean those people you think should be allowed to come here? Will the real Mikey please stand up!
Exactly what I have been thinking for aeons, naomi. The halo has slipped!

The teenage son of my French neighbour was coming to the UK (Birmingham) on an exchange visit and the French kids were told they were forbidden to use public transport as it was 'too dangerous'.
PMSL. Ever tried riding the Paris Métro on a regular basis?
