Similar To Michael Connolly?

Looking to by my Dad some books.

He really enjoys Michael Connolly, but I think he has read most of them.
Can anyone recommend a similar author? Not Lee Child, thanks, because although he has read and liked some of his, I don’t know which, and don’t want to risk any duplications.

For some reason, he never seems keen on lady authors!
