this is for the benefit of people who ask questions on ab like what is the capital of peru? there is a little know search engine that not many people use or have even heard of it is called google and this gives answers to pretty much any question.

Maybe we should have a little google search thing on AB.

I've got to admit it bob, i used to be one of those people (Sorry!) I've been on the straight and narrow for a while now though, and can say that my fingers no longer wander towards AB with questions good enough for Google.

P.S is the capital of Spain Barcelona or Madrid?

i don't agree with what you are saying re: google. What is superior about doing an internet search via google where you will get thousands of automated pages versus doing an internet search via answerbank, where you will get an answer from a real human being? Personally i like the latter better. Google can answer 1000's of questions, but wheres the fun in that? i like my questions answered with a little wit and clarity, which is found often on ab, but not so much on google really.

Secondly, questions like what is the capital of peru i get very excited about. I hardly ever know the answers to the stuff people ask on here, and tend to have to answer the opinion threads. I like knowing the answer sometimes, and being able to give it!

google doesn't know anything. It just aggregates the websites of people who think they know things. What may happen is that one person puts up something wrong. Then hundreds of other people cut and paste it. So Google will tell you it's correct when it isn't. This has happened to me. The usual rules apply: don't believe anything you see on the internet without getting at least one second opinion. kazza's right: you get better answers on AB.

Goes to show that AB knows far more than Google.
