Ever seen a rat fight?

Funniest sight in our garden today. Bird table is situated in the middle of lawn and a visiting rat has just discovered that if he sits underneath it, he can pick up all the food which is scattered down. Today he has hoveed around the bird table for 10 minutes, quite fearlessly chasing off three magpies. One of them kept trying to peck his long tail (perhaps thinking it was a worm?). Then after eventually chasing them off, he calmly went back to chobbling all the scattered seeds which were on the grass. We were in hysterics watching him and have named him Lionheart. Anybody taking on three magpies at once deserves a few pickings surely ??

Hi Wendy, Nice story. Unfortunately, living where we do near draining ditches and open farmland, we have to control the rats 'cos they get into the roof. However, I don't hate them and they are so very intelligent (and quite pretty!).

Saw a rat fighting with my dog once. Dog won, but not before the rat had given him a couple of nasty bites to the nose and ear, which just don't stop bleeding!!

I kept pet rats for years and often saw them fighting eachother but never seen them fighting off birds though it doesn't surprise me they are pretty nasty when they wanna be! But cute cute cute!!! : )

I am afraid that any rat that appears in my garden gets an instant dose of lead indigestion from mister .22. Having had the damn things get into the house before I hate the bloody things
