It's too cold for snow.

Just how hot does it have to be?
I've done my exercise for today, Alba. :-)
glad to hear it Tilly :-D

now, there's one, I never heard Tilly, I only saw what was typed
You've lost me now, Alba.
Jackdaw- The atmosphere must contain moisture to generate snow and very cold air contains very little moisture. Once the air temperature at ground level drops below about -10 degrees Fahrenheit (-20 degrees Celsius), snowfall becomes unlikely in most places.
"The alarm clock went off." or "The fire alarm went off." No they didn't: They went ON.
Of pregnant women having just given birth.....everyone says "she had a LITTLE girl" or "LITTLE boy".
Little, eh.....how unusual.
Little was never used to describe or my sibling. We were huge babies!
Bet not as big as my Gramps, Eccles, he has a certificate...

Well he did, he's dead now, but someone in the family has it.

He was 16lb 10.
Ok, Ummmm, your gramps has knocked me and sibling into a cocked hat.

Was he the the last child your Great-Granny had?

Ouch, ouch ouch!
Restaurants describing something as 'Oven Baked' what else are they going to do put it out in the mid day Sun ?
No...believe it or not. He was the 10th out of 11.

She was very very poorly after having him....but...his certificate was for the second biggest baby born in Ireland. So some poor woman had a bigger one!!! :-D
I don't understand why people have issues with cooking terms.
ummmm just 'baked' is all that is needed 'oven baked' is an extra and unnecessary word'
The one that really gets me is if you lose something, keys ,glasses, whatever someone is sure to ask 'Where did you leave them?' I always reply ''If I knew that I would not be looking''
Another food based one I am starting to see is ' Chef prepared' or 'Chef Cooked' to describe menu items. Sounds better than 'microwave warmed' I suppose?
And why, in an emergency situation in a school, office building, jail etc, do we say it's locked down? Surely it's been locked up.
