Hotmail/outlook Help?

My outlook / hotmail account has changed. Now when I go into my emails I just see a few from months or years back. How do I get it so that i can just see a list of my emails starting with the most recent?
Can't see any way to get it back to 'normal'

EDDIE, mine is okay, I was just looking at my emails and I wonder would you have somehow changed the '"arrange by" on the drop down menu to older first and your newer emails are way down the end of the list? If that's not the case, I can't help any further, it's just I do that sometimes and now I know how to fix it myself

Just Googled 'Outlook 2016 changes' and it takes me to a site to pay £106 to download the latest version. I'm not going to pay for emails!
Has outlook gone paid for only now?

I don't pay for mine, I'm just reading an email from a few hours ago, never pay for emails. I've never been asked for money for my outlook/hotmail account or any account

Unfamiliar with Hotmail but did you check the arrange by, or any filters ? Are you looking in the right folder, the right inbox ? I take it you have only one Hotmail account ?

Think I have sorted it now. I had put a filter to show 'unread' email first. That was why I was seeing ones from ages ago that I had not looked at.
