I doubt that we have many or any in AB.

At the moment I am shortening a pair of Tu Trousers for my wife who is 5'5". The reason she bought long legged trews from Sainsburys is because they are colourful, lightweight and ideal to wear around the house and garden during the Summer months (If we get any more good weather.) However, it is the case that Tu Trews are made for somewhat very tall ladies.

I have telephoned Tu@Sainsburys and the chap I spoke to assured me that the trews could be ordered on-line in various sizes. He then endeavor to take me through the ordering process (which I well knew) and ended up by saying that it was all rather strange that Tu Trews appear to come in one size and are being modelled by young ladies of 5'11" and he would report the issue.

Seriously, I am not pulling your leg. Have a look for yourself and see if you would be able to order different sizes.

Some of the items are offered in S/R/L lengths whilst some of the more casual styles don't mention leg length. I am 5'6" and wear a 31" leg so how they fit that 5'11" model is weird.

Kind of you to award BA, always difficult to choose when so many good replies come in.

@Berniecuddles2....Did you miss out a hyphen or comma.

Anyway for some reason your posting made me remember a niece of mine who married a chap without knowing that he had an artificial foot on his left leg. Anyway, whilst my niece was on her honeymoon she telexed her mum and said, "didn't know until last night that John only has one foot." Her mother replied, "Cheers, your father only has 6inches."

Hans.
Hans - pity you can't award yourself best answer ;-)

From what I have read in AB, I believe there was a time when one could award to his/herself a 'best answer', but the Ed got wise to it. However, 'Best Answers' now need to be made fully functional. Something which could be done in the AB Up-date that is being proposed. However, I am too timid to approach the Ed on such matters, which might be regarded as coming from an old man who is Not worth listening to.

I have qualified for a Silver Nerd's Badge but haven't had it, or even a bronze.

Hans.
Yes , the badge system is rather behind the times.

Mamyalynne....I agree with you..." the badge system is rather behind the times".

Incidentally, I am pleased that you have a Nerd's Badge, along with 18 other 'gongs'. I only have 2 for years of service in AB.

Hans.
She's just waiting for Ed to introduce the "elbows" badge.....she knows we can't compete..... ;-)
I heard that!
Ohhhh, legs and elbows.
Oh lord! We've fired up someone's ardour!.....x
I'm 5' 9 Hans and my trews are nearly always riding high. if I send some over perhaps you'd stitch the cut offs on for me 1970's style? That would complete the job wouldn't it?

@gness..I read your posting at 18.12 and am still trying to work out if you have one leg longer or one shorter than the other.

Anyway, as regards your listing and going around in circles, this could be caused by your belief that a certain tonic drink is good for you and , dare I say it, a little over imbibing.

As regards your comments at 20.36 it's a case of 'nudge nudge, know what I mean'.

@Maydup.....Although I say it myself, I am quite good with a Sewing Machine and Hand stitching. Consequently, I would be willing to adjust your Trews but, to ensure a perfect fit, it will be necessary for me to take a few measurements, such as inside leg etc. I'll put on a pair of Marigold Gloves if it will will make you feel more comfortable.

Hans.
Hans...despite many years of investigation there has been no conclusion....I am left with the puzzle....have I one short leg or one long leg......it weighs on me dreadfully......I need to know the answer.....

As regards the imbibing......I have found the solution.....my left leg is the shorter so I hold the pint of Guinness in my right hand thereby balancing out the tendency to lean to the left. This only works, of course, if I don't drink the contents of the glass......which again adds to my woes.....and looks jolly silly in Aldi....the queue at the bank and when I am riding my bicycle..... :-(
Reminds me of the time, not long after we were married. when I shortened a pair of jeans for Mr BD. Did one leg, he tried them on and was pleased with the fit so I did the other leg. When he tried them on a second time we both found out that I had shortened the same leg twice. Forty nine years later and he still reminds me of it. We are still together so I must have had other talents.

I am now going to leg it from this thread, unless there are further comments.

My thanks to everyone who contributed.

You all measured up.

Cheers...Hans.

Baldric.....You've raised a good point because Mrs_O hasn't been about for the last four weeks.

I hope she's alright.

Hans.
Bit of a setback, Hans and Baldric.....but she'll be back to sort us out soon if I know her....... :-)

Thanks gness for the info. Hope she is back very soon because I owe it to her that I have found out how useful are Marigold Gloves.
