The first American I ever drove, in 1978, was a Buick something...can't recall what the something was ( Regal ? ). But it drove like a trawler......f you approached a turn or a corner at anything like the speed you would in a normal British car, you ran the very real risk of turning the bloody thing over.

Horrible.

In contrast, in the Autumn of 1994, I drove Route 66, from Chicago Airport and back, through the Dakotas, in a Lexus 400. This was the best car I have ever driven and all these years later, it still is !
