Server For A Apple Mac Computer.

I have a six year old computer which unfortunately has become full of Music and Photos. The straw which broke the camel's back was the GoPro files. Rather than a new computer, can I buy a separate storage system for my photos and music and link this in with the computer, so I can send these files to my server so I have access to both. I know nothing about this so could someone kindly tell me if this is possible and what make should I go for and are they difficult to fit? With many thanks, Bram.

You don't need a server, per se. Simply buy an external hard drive ensuring that:
(a) it's a model specifically designed for a Mac ; and
(b) it's got plenty of storage capacity (e.g. 3Tb)

It's definitely not difficult to fit. You simply plug it in!

Haven't got a Mac myself, but I assume your PC will just see the external drive as part of the system in the same way a Windows PC would.
