Golf Trolly

On the main wheel shaft,at both ends there is a a short pin that goes through the shaft to drive each wheel. On my Hillbilly electric trolly one of these pins has broken off. They are made of hardened steel, can anyone please suggest a way of removing it.I don't want to send it back to the makers for the sake of a 25p pin Thanks.

Found this on Google, to save you a lot of hard work I wondered whether the whole shaft could be re-placed. http:// www. hillbilly. co. uk/ Service- Parts/

The only thing I can suggest is a hardened punch a little smaller in diameter to the pin. It's possible that the broken pin has a knurled section in the centre part that keeps it held tight by the shaft.
If the pin comes out the other side is there sufficient sticking out to get a small pair of grips on and twist it to loosen it?

Thanks Dodger and bookbinder I had tried your suggestions but with no success.I was hoping to keep the cost down by simply replacing the pin and not go to a new shaft/axle.I couldn't see that item on the Hillbilly website W/Ron.I have even tried heating up the area in the hope that either the pin or the shaft would change in size for the pin to come out easier.....no luck.
Hi jomifl,at the end of the axle there is a groove cut right around, it a kind of spring loaded "tongue" locates in this groove to stop the wheel from coming away from the pins.If you drill a hole anywhere else that tongue will not locate.
I'm pleased to say after a lot of ducking and diving I've managed to get the pin out,but thanks anyway.
