can anyone explain why psoriasis might be enough of a health and safety concern for a passenger to be denied boarding?

From what research I have done, Psoriasis is not contagious.

The check in clerk was trying to establish what the condition was, presumably in case it was infectious which psoriasis most certainly isn't.

It was a sensible precaution but very badly executed.

My mum suffered from this once (hospitalised). It's not contagious, no reason whatsoever for denying boarding.
