I'd say it all depends on just how near to Trump the guy was when he tried snatching the cop's gun and whether or not he had ever fired one. If he was a distance away and had had no prior experience with handguns, i'd suggest that the lives of anyone in the vicinity was in danger.
And, a aelmpvw suggests, Trump's life is in constant danger. Even more so if hee were to be elected!

He is such an unpleasant character, that I would imagine that his life is always in danger.

The reports say he had planned this for a year and had learnt how to fire a gun at a range the previous day. I think "planned" is the wrong word and unless he had practised with a police-issue gun, the liklihood is anyone other than Trump would have been in danger.
