Welcome to Title Builder Beta.

This small piece of kit is designed to make building your Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle question more effective. It should make finding your question easier for others and, the easier it is to find, the more likely someone is to answer it!

To build an easy to find question title simply select the paper and quiz, enter the quiz number if relevant and fill in the Publication Date. Once you’re happy click “Build Title” and the information should populate the Title field. Fill in the final required details of your question as you normally would, and click submit.

As this is a Beta we only have a limited number of papers and quizzes listed. If you think your favourite Quiz, Crossword or Puzzle should be listed here don’t hesitate to contact us.

Remember: You do not have to use the title builder - simply enter the title and question as you normally would and click submit!

Very satisfying. Some very good clues with some neatly hidden misprints. I'd forgotten that quotation, and was delighted to be reminded of it. Early on I thought there was going to be an ambiguity, but then I saw what tnap had spotted about the number of letters in the quotation. Many thanks, tnap.

Excellent puzzle. Used to have the tome, which has a literary connection which I learned of only recently.

Struggling with this one. Enjoyed 4401, which all made sense despite arbitrary choices of which letter to spl differently.

These days I give up gracefully when I'm beaten and consult another place, but don't submit. So I was pleased to win a BRB recently (with no help, honest!), which created a drama of its own.

Mercury retrograde - no, I don't credit astrology any more but the post has gone haywire. two items misdelivered in a few days. Where's my BRB?

Tried to contact the Times and finally got an email from the Listener co-editor. Didn't realise they waited a week in case people wanted alternative prizes - I suppose if you won twice in a short space of time you'd appreciate an alternative! (What's on offer?)

Then a card through the door from dpd, tried to deliver, options shown on website not available, and despite my best efforts to simplify I ended up coming back from work the next day to collect in person. Good to get the new Chambers hand delivered. Could agree the astrological meaning of Mercury retrograde if everyone else had the same problems!
