I thought things were going well until I ground to a halt in the top right corner -- even having the theme identified didn't help me much. Finally got there, though. I hadn't come across the poem before, so thanks both for the introduction and for a good puzzle, Tut.

I'm not totally on the correct wavelength here. Over 80% of the grid filled, with the poem identified and the instruction guessed - and not a single clash in sight as yet. More work needed, but thanks Tut for the workout so far.

Very similar to Midgler, all completed with all resolved / carried out and the title understood; but three bifd and awaiting inspiration on the wordplay (19, 36, 42, if you're asking). Very enjoyable puzzle - thanks Tut if you're looking in!

Nice to have a reasonably gentle puzzle after being up all night watching the referendum! I don't understand the title either but as tnap says, never mind.

This crossword had so many agreeable features, adding up to "no drudgery". Wish we had not encountered the theme, which reminds us of too many people in real life.
Is there is distinction between googling for obscure themes (enlightening) and crunching Quinapalus for anagrams + 1 that would otherwise have been almost impossible (feels like cheating but we do it anyway).

Puzzled by the title by otherwise all fine and dandy although the placing of the unused letters in several clues meant that the wordplay was only solvable in reverse for me.

Cruncher - the title is what you would think if you tried to interpret it before looking at the clues

Educational theme. Like Upsetter I resorted to Google (for confirmation of the biographical element required in the endgame) and found myself mired in an attempt to work out who was who and who did what.

The title is a bit of an anti-climax and I'm not sure if 'features' of the poem are what we end up with, but I'm pleased to find I am neither Angry nor Ugly this week.

Finally there. Interesting theme, thanks Tut, but I didn't enjoy this as much as many recent puzzles. I think some of the wordplays were too contrived for my liking.
