Another Paint Removal Question

Can anyone recommend a product we can use to remove specks of exterior wall paint from white plastic window frames and window ledges please? Washing them doesn't do it.

only thing I can think of is a paint scraper, gently, to remove the specks

I agree with albaqwerty, but oil based and water based paints will behave somewhat differently. What possibly would be of help would be to apply something like white spirit first and allow it a chance to soften the paint for a while (repeated application may be justified). Whatever scraper you use, be certain it is not too sharp because using something that is quite tricky to use if the plastic is not to be scratched/damaged. Try on the least conspicuous are first to see if any discolouration takes place (shouldn't) and to perfect the technique.

I agree with the spirit first thing then maybe a “magic” sponge used VERY gently

I thought white spirit might damage the plastic. No?

Thanks so much everyone for being kind enough to respond. My husband tried WD40 and with a bit of elbow grease it works. I've made a note of all the other suggestions too just in case we find a stubborn patch.

Thanx for BA. As WD40 is oil based it allows paint to slip off glass. Ive used it to remove paint gathered on my car when I scraped a bollard

Glass too? Wow! That's handy because the paint is not confined to the plastic frames .... there are splashes on the windows too. Thank you, tamborine.
