I voted in a general election about 20 years ago does that mean i am still on the electoral register or do i need to reapply?

daft question maybe but i understand you need to be on it for mortgage purposes

No, you need to fill in an electoral roll application each year.
They should have sent you (or where you lived) a form each year for you to put your name on.
you ought to be sent a form to sign and send back each year
Doesn't work like that anymore.
If you have not been sent one you will have to contact your local council. They will send you one.
Breadstick....have you voted in any Election for the last 20 years ?

If you have, then you must be on the register.

Why haven't you filled in the form to register every time it is sent to you ?
You should get a form every year to reconfirm your presence. Contact your local councils electoral registration department to make sure you are included.
You can apply on-line to be placed on the Electoral Register.
