How does a jet engine get 40 tonnes of the ground at 180 mph in 2500 m from a standing start ?

The formula is: Thrust= weight of air in pounds per second X velocity divided by 32.2, which is the normal acceleration due to gravity in feet per second. Thus an unaccelrated turbojet engine can continously produce a large amount of thrust from a relatively small, light weight engine.
