How much is it to get the strings on a guiar flipped so i can play a right handed guitar. Thing is my bro left home and left me his guitar which is a damn good guitar (BC Rich Virgin) and i really want to play it.

There is usually more to it than just swapping the order of the strings. The nut may need modification or changing (that's the bar with grooves in it, that the strings run through at the top of the neck when they leave the fretboard and go to the machine heads) The grooves in it are wider for the bass strings than the thinner strings.

The volume pots will be upside down and their position may interfere with your being able to play properly (assuming it's not an acoustic version).

The bridge may need completely resetting and adjusting.

If it's an electric version, the jack plug socket may be inconveniently placed.

The strap peg (s) may need resiting on the guitar body.

Hi..like mortartube said it's not as easy as flipping the strings round. You will need to have the nut flipped or replaced and the bridge will need setting up aswell. A purist will tell you to rotate the pickups but that not really needed. You'll need to get a guitar lead with a right angled jack as the socket will be on the top edge of the guitar and a normal jack will dig in to you abit. As for access to the high notes...the Virgin's cutaways meet the neck at the same fret (21st i think) on both sides so that shouldn't be a problem (a flipped les paul has NO top end access) One down side is that the controles are quite close to the bridge humbucker and that might give you some trouble. Anyways...its a nice guitar and would look quite nice "flipped" but may give you a few problems (jack position/controles)

I'm left-handed, and my first guitar was a right-handed one handed down from my Dad, for which I just switched the strings round. It sounded fine, and was perfectly good to learn on, but I noticed the difference when I got a proper lefty guitar. Having said that, Hendrix always played on a right-handed guitar with flipped strings, so if he can do it, I'm sure you can.
