A dog and a concrete back yard

I am moving soon to a rented home that has a concreted back garden some 18' x 10'. There are rare times through the night or early in the morning when my dog wakes me needing a pee - no way is she going to pee on concrete so I need to think of a partial cover of sorts that she will use for those rare emergencies. I don't want to get up and dressed and walk the streets at 3am with her.

Any suggestions what to do? sand? turf? imitation grass? I can't dig up the concrete so anything will have to go on the top of it.

A couple pieces of turf, just replace when needed, you could try artificial turf but maybe the feel of it would put her off ,personally we got shingle down and if she wanna go she uses it or crosses her legs, though we put her out just as we about to go to bed and again as soon as we up,she'll hang on then,

shingle sounds good to me electricblue - I can hose it easily and I think it would be the answer for her. My dog will be in the woods or at the beach daily so I can't see much of a mess on shingle. I'm sorted, thanks!
You could also try chipped bark, cheap and easy to dispose of. Our dog is the fussiest pee-er around and she's happy to do a gypsy's on the bark mulch. Better than doing it on the grass and killing it!
Some of the bigger garden centres stock long shallow trays about two inches deep and three feet long which are designed to contain Grow Bags. If you buy one of these and fill it with shingle or forest bark, this might be a suitable solution.
If you do have any 'accidents' on the concrete Jeyes fluid is usually a very effective cleaner.

I apologise for taking so long in getting back and acknowledging those kind enough to suggest a "pee place" for my dog.

I think I will go for shingle because bark is good but I think (with high walls I shall have) it will be a wind trap and the bark will scatter.

I know what is meant by the plastic containers for gro bags but my spaniel needs a little bit more room. Yes I am aware of Jeyes fluid and in fact do use a diluted amount now - It did jog my memory to go buy some more though!

I think I will get some wood - like a floorboard but only a few inches wide, make an L shape out of it and fill it with shingle. I can hose that down when I need.

Thank you all again for your suggestions.
