You see, the truth behind it is that in Germany--the Pope's homeland--men are said to be more respected and admired with cranial tattoos. The Italians--thanks mainly to the contributions of Da Vinci and Michaelangelo--developed 3-D tattooing. Toward the end of WWII, Mussolini shared this sacred art with Hitler who then ordered it be done to all non-Jewish men as a sign of their allegiance to the Party. It's a precursor to gang tattoos and tagging. The more ornate and colorful the artwork, the more priviledges that are bestowed upon the one donning the images. And, since the Catholic Church was known to fund the Nazi Party, it only makes sense that eventually a German becomes the next Pope.
