Post~Menopausal Discharge
3 Answers
I have been through the change for 2.5 yrs and I've been having spotting/brown discharge along with mild period~like cramps
I have been for a hysteroscopy which showed I've got a uterine fibroid and a cervical polyp was removed and tested (no cancer).
As I was still having this problem I went back & had a scan which showed the fibroid hadn't grown so they weren't concerned. It was put down to vaginal atrophy so I was prescribed oestrogen pessaries which I've used for several weeks.
Still having the discharge
Any ideas please? Many thanks

After a few years (5?) I had the same sort of spotting, reported it, was sent for ultra-sound etc... They found an ancient fibroid (which explained some of the heavy bleeding I'd had in previous years) but nothing else and it was written down to hormones. All this time later, it seems they were right - so on balance, I wouldn't worry about it. Sqad would agree with me when I say 'monitor the situation', I think. I really hope I'm nearly out of it at last. Bonne chance!
A bit confused here........not sure what vaginal atrophy has to do with "period-like cramps" and brown discharge.
Fibroid not growing.........so no big deal.
Cervical polyp, not malignant so again....no big deal
This is not my area, but it would seem that your symptoms may well be coming from the cervical polyp.
I agree with jourdain..........monitor the situation for the time being.
