someone told me that at the end of lost series they arte all actually ghosts and were dead the whole time but didn't know it. is this true?

the ending hasn't been written, so who knows? Thing is, there are dozens of theories out there.

not at the end of series 2 they're not!! they are writing a third series so we might find out then
