There's a stream at the bottom of our garden and the bats would swoop in low to catch all the insects. One night batty got his rate of descend rong and swooped low a bit too early. Splash jumped up, like Najinsky on speed (the dancer, not the horse) and caught the poor little flittermouse then came galumphing up the garden with it, eager to share his prize catch. I locked him out the house.
He's also managed to catch pheasant. We had that for Sunday dinner.
