I'm confused. The latest ad shown on Renault's Youtube channel (or that Google seems to know about) is the Clio one, with a male Dutch singer!

He does sing in a high voice, Buenchico and from a short clip on an ad I can see why it might be thought of as female, although I'm not sure it sounds particularly American.
