I need some advice. I want to do a teaching assistant job, but I have no clue as to what qualifications I need and where to begin. If anyone has any advice, it will be most welcome. tia xx

There are national job descriptions and person specs for all levels of Teaching Assistant. Classroom Assistant is the entry level which requires no specific qualificatio n. Ask your local children's services dept and they will give you a copy of appropriate levels

Its best to have some local connections as well as the relevant skills and quals as every vacancy attracts a heap of applicants from parents of the children at the school. If you can, offer your time voluntary at a couple of local schools and hope to find yourself in the right place at the right time.
