Hello ABers,
I watched the first part of that EDEN programme and one of the goats had eaten chicken feed, which the goat couldn't digest and therefore it was dying, one of the guys chosen was a vet and they showed the goat clearly in distress and pain and they filmed it dying on camera, I found this distressing - why couldn't they have put the goat out of it's misery - it was clearly dying but they left it to die an agonising death by the looks of things. Not good television !

Surely it must have been more than indigestible, otherwise would it not have simply passed through ?
A difficult decision even for a vet. The goat was important and it would have been a difficult decision to kill it rather than see if it would pull through. I thought it odd that people cried for the butchered pig but no one (asides from the vet) seemed to mind the poisoned goat.

The narrator said the goat had eaten chicken feed which the goat was unable to digest, the vet guy said it was in a bad way yet the goat was just left crying out in pain and was filmed dying...why couldn't they put the poor goat to sleep?
I didn't enjoy it, won't be watching again.
Ah it is on now. Being honest the killing of the pig was an intended act; and the softness of a western life doesn't prepare one for slaughtering animals for food. So, hardly surprising there were tears over that.

Still not reached the goat bit yet.
