The debt collectors could certainly come to the house.

Everyone at the address could be affected for many years.

The debt is personal to you. When you apply for future credit then they will ask for your previous addresses so the debt would be detected. As far as the people in the same household are concerned, yes debt collectors if used will call at that address, if the occupants know of your whereabouts it would be prudent for them to give this address to the collectors. They should also return all mail to the sender unopened either saying you are no longer at the address or giving details of your new address. If they have problems obtaining credit then they should get a copy of their credit history and disassociate themselves from you.

It does get linked to the address, so it would affect other people living there in that it would be flagged up as a cautionary indication.

The link should get broken when the person is known to have left the address. But this sometimes doesn't happen as it should.
