I have soft finger tips and im starting to learn the guitar and they get quite sore after a while. How long will it take to form calluses on the end of my fingers?

I think it takes quite a while and depends how often you play. I played for two years a few times a week and noticed the pain reducing after a few months but it always used to hurt a bit cos of softer fingers.

try soaking your fingers in white spirit or put supeglue on the bits where you want callouses. it worked for me!

Sounds gross but i used to bite my fingers when they started to harden - this way the skin would grow back even tougher
