germany certainly has plenty of previous in this theatre of interest, although pretty unsuccessful...although at the last attempt to to take over europe they did pretty well using lies and deciet under cover of the eussr but got scuppered at the last knockings on June 24th (another bad day in german history)

Similar to Bush's ludicrous 'war on terror' - you cannot actually fight a war against an idealism, or against a nebulous organisation with a shadowy power structure.
But - it sounds good - and infers a sense of response and an intention to 'win' - neither of which are meaningful, but make excellent sound bites, which politicians love.
